Watched Brokeback mountain at last! Have been wanting to watch it since i found out that it was Ang Lee directing. His movies just seem to span all the genres! But the thing about waiting for something which you expect to be of a certain standard is that you might.. or probably would, be disappointed. The great news however, is that despite all that, I wasn't. I loved it.
It was a film filled with so much emotions.
Ok, granted, it was slightly strange to watch guys suck the face off each other, and the..hmmm ferocity and emotive-ness of it all, still it is such a hopelessly romantic story, i feel. There's almost a R&J thing going on.
Think about it. R&J had their balcony. E&J had their mountain. R&J had to keep it a secret due to antagonistic familial circumstances. E&J had to keep it a secret due to a fiercely traditional society. And its only on their balcony/mountain that their relationship could exist. And the world outside had no place for them. So there, close enough?

Well, do watch it if you can.

went kayaking yesterday w sis, and the J twins.. v v fun! we swapped kayaks in the middle of the reservoir.. yes.. mac ritchie.. has kayaking! hahaha.. hmm.. it was a nice.. sunny day.. breezy.. but not chilly.. and the water.. was not salty.. so.. it was a nice.. clean smell.. well.. the kayaking.. was a very new experience.. i had not kayaked for so long.. and kayaking w chops was fun.. though changing directions proved to have a lot of drag.. it was a relatively smooth exercise.. the water was not choppy.. and it was a smooth pull!

wells.. after that.. met kamil for dinner.. and.. went to marina.. you know.. marina is a beautiful place.. there is this wing.. that has all my fave labels.. Mango.. Zara.. Topshop.. Miss Selfridge.. and nearby.. Warehouse! hehe.. that was the second time i was in Marina that week.. previously.. was there w chops.. and went CRAZY! spent almost a hundred that day.. *sighs*.. i need money.. oh oh.. and the basics are there too.. giordano.. baleno.. hang ten.. and! esprit is there too.. and this pretty pretty dress shop.. called zano.. v v nice dress!! i want!! $158.. hmm.. i need someone who is willing to splurge $158 on me.. its a pretty dress!!! ok! so i dont have an occassion for the dress.. but.. its a PRETTY dress!! and its cut PERFECT for me.. tell me! who has found a PERFECT dress? where all the curves are nicely fitted.. and the length is perfect and the colour suits me.. I FOUND MY PERFECT DRESS!! but.. not buying... heehee.. what if i put on weight.. and cant fit anymore.. hmm..

must lose weight.. must must..

Our best foot forward for the new year ahead. Ok, I know its kinda late in the day to say that, considering its already feb, but its never too late for resolutions right?
Guess which foot is whose? Just in case you have no idea who these 5 people are, they are mummy, daddy, kenny, sw and me!

Anyway, now that my trip seems a lot nearer now, with chinese new year and what not behind me, its starting to seem a little bit scary. haha. But only a little tiny itsy bit scary. I was looking at the pictures of my hostel and there are swarms of ang mohs. Note that I said swarms, not crowds, throngs, a horde or a mass of angmohs, but swarms. Not a single thing familiar. So, it'll just be me! Also, just found out that the hostel is huge! Like 600++ rooms. 12 buildings. Checked out the other hostels in that area, ie within school vicinity and i'm glad that i got the least dodgy looking one. yay!

Here is my new home - Siegmunds Hof - from 7 March to 17 August. Will be leaving for Berlin in about 3 weeks! 6th March and here I come! Was really glad to have received my accom. letter so soon. Well, speaking of the letter, I managed to immediately identify it as a letter from the hostel when I received it, but it took me 1/2 hour to decipher the details of it because it was in German! At this rate, I don't think I'll get any homework done if its all going to be in German when I'm there.

On a lighter note, my hostel is really near the University - so near that I can walk to school - and is right smack in the city centre. For those who know Berlin, its near Unter den Linden, Tiergarten and the Zoo! So fun!
